Short for "Multimedia Message Service", a more complex and more capable means of sending text messages with colored images and sound over wireless networks using the WAP protocol.

MMS Categories

• SCREENSAVERS - graphics which can either be 2D or 3D animation or still image, usually complex in composition and has a subject matter.


• WALLPAPERS - still graphics which are minimal in composition, and has simple rendition. Usually set as a phone background.


• MMS ANIMATIONS - are animated graphics that conform to the 15 to 30 KB file limit.


• ANIMATION SHORTS - are animated graphics that conform to the 10 to 15 seconds playtime.


• ANIMATION CLIPS - are animated graphics in the 15 to 30 seconds playtime bracket.


• SMIL (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) - are animated graphics with sound integration.


• STILL ANIMATIONS - are moments of actions combined giving hints of events happening in an animation.


• COUPONS -- are promotional ads done for the MMS phones.
